gospel change in the Great Plains
About Scott Brown
What amazes me in this country is not that our duly-elected legislators are considering how to deal with health care more effectively. It’s clearly a mess. Even though there is all kinds of disagreement about how and who should fix the problem, certainly most of us can agree the health care and health insurance system in our country needs some serious tweaking.
What amazes me in this country is not that a very loud segment of our population has voiced their support for a certain new senator from clam chowder country. The calls for him to run for president and the running commentary on how he has saved the day are not a surprise either. Americans are people after all, and people for whatever reason are willing to put inordinate pressure and expectations on one person. No matter how many times it fails, us humans are gluttons for punishment.
What amazes me in this country is the position we find ourselves in. My blog has seldom breathed even a minor whiff of politics. But it bothers me profoundly that any group of people in our country would put so much effort into passing a political agenda for our country that can be derailed by the election of one senator. It is not a good sign for our “civilization” that we are so far from consensus.
